McCrone, Inc. has named Michael Burcham as company president. Mr. Burcham is a professional land surveyor in Maryland, Delaware, and Pennsylvania and has 25 years of experience with the firm. Starting as a drafter in 1986, Mr. Burcham held several supervisory and management positions prior to becoming branch manager of the Elkton, Maryland office in January 2010. Mr. Burcham has managed projects in all facets of land development ranging from boundary and ALTA/ASCM Land Title Surveys to large residential and commercial subdivisions. He is a board member of the Cecil County Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Homebuilders Association of Maryland and a past chapter chair for the Maryland Society of Surveyors. Mr. Burcham will use his leadership, marketing and technical skills to launch McCrone forward into its next 75 years.

Vice President K. Scott Aja is now responsible for operations in McCrone’s Centreville office. Mr. Aja has also been named President of Salisbury Wicomico Economic Development, Inc. (SWED), for a two-year term. The mission of SWED is to enhance the socio-economic environment of Salisbury, Wicomico County and region through the preservation and creation of productive employment opportunities.

Donny Sutton, Prop L.S. was recently appointed to a four-year term on the Maryland Critical Area Commission for the Chesapeake and Atlantic Coastal Bays. There are 29 positions on the Commission, but Donny fills one of thirteen reserved for a resident and elected or appointed official from a local jurisdiction. Donny has served on the Town Council of the Town of Betterton in Kent County for 20 years. His longevity on the Town of Betterton’s Council was recognized in June 2011 at the Maryland Municipal League (MML) Convention in Ocean City, Maryland where he was inducted to the MML Hall of Fame by Governor Martin O’Malley.
